Continuing the activities of the “Positive Aging Hub 55+” project, a two-day training session was held in Ludza on June 3–4, 2026. The main objective of the training was to learn the methodology for developing social programs and practical approaches to ensuring the operation of the Positive Aging Hub center. The training was attended by project partners from the Latvian Red Cross and Lithuania’s Northern College, who are involved on a daily basis in issues related to population aging, social inclusion, and community development.

Over the course of two days, participants worked alongside experts to develop social programs based on the Positive Aging Hub approach and the needs of seniors. They analyzed social service models, developed program structures, and defined practical solutions that will help promote the active participation of people aged 55 and older in public life, mutual support, and a sense of belonging to the community.

During the training, participants from Latvia and Lithuania shared their experiences with existing initiatives and jointly sought solutions for integrating the social programs developed by the Positive Aging Hub into the social service systems of both countries in the future.

This training represents the next step in the project’s development, marking the transition from the development of a conceptual approach to the creation of specific social programs. It strengthened the partnership between Latvian and Lithuanian organizations and laid a solid foundation for the development of new, person-centered social services that will, in the long term, promote active, healthy, and dignified aging in both countries.
