Latvian Red Cross implements an international youth exchange project “A principle a day keeps the Red Cross AWAKE” Nr. 2020-3-LV02-KA105-003538.
Project implementation period: March 7, 2021 – December 6, 2021.
Aim: By the end of the project, 20 Red Cross volunteers from Latvia and Italy, aged 16-25, have learned the history of the Red Cross, its basic principles and their role in everyday life, thus increasing their sense of belonging to the organization.

Tasks of the project:
- To expand knowledge about the history, movement and values of the Red Cross;
- To deepen the understanding of the importance of volunteering in the Red Cross;
- To promote understanding of the basic principles of the Red Cross;
- To increase the sense of belonging of the Red Cross youth volunteers to the organization, thus raising the capacity of the organization to provide the necessary services to the society;
- To promote cooperation and development of new ideas for the implementation of national and international projects.
Project location: Solferino and Pisa, Italy
During the project implementation there will be 2 mobilities:
- Advances planning visit (APV), which will be attended by two participants of the youth exchange (a participant and a leader) from Latvia and two leaders from Italy. During the visit, the participants will discuss the details the tasks for youth exchange and practical information;
- Youth exchange. It will be attended by 2 youth groups – 2 group leaders and 10 young people from the Latvian Red Cross and 3 group leaders and 10 young people from the Italian Red Cross.

2021. gada 7. martā biedrības “Latvijas Sarkanais Krusts” struktūrvienība “Latvijas Sarkanā Krusta Jaunatne” (LSKJ) uzsāka programmas “Erasmus+: Jaunatnes darbībā” jauniešu apmaiņas projekta “Viens princips dienā, notur Sarkano Krustu nomodā” (“A principle a day keeps the Red Cross AWAKE”) īstenošanu.
Projekta īstenošanas periods ir 2021. gada 7. marts – 2021. gada 6.decembris.
Projektā izvirzītais mērķis: līdz projekta beigām 20 Sarkanā Krusta brīvprātīgie no Latvijas un Itālijas, vecumā no 16 – 25 gadiem, ir apguvuši Sarkanā Krusta kustības vēsturi, pamatprincipus un to nozīmi ikdienā, tādējādi paaugstinot savu piederības sajūtu organizācijai.

Projekta uzdevumi:
- Paplašināt zināšanas par Sarkanā Krusta vēsturi, kustību un tās vērtībām;
- Izprast brīvprātīgā darba nozīmi Sarkanajā Krustā;
- Veicināt izpratni par Sarkanā Krusta pamatprincipiem;
- Paaugstināt Sarkanā Krusta brīvprātīgo jauniešu piederības sajūtu organizācijai, tādējādi ceļot organizācijas kapacitāti sniegt sabiedrībai nepieciešamos pakalpojumus;
- Veicināt sadarbību un jaunu ideju izstrādi nacionālu un starptautisku projektu īstenošanai.
- Projekta īstenošanas vieta: Solferino un Piza, Itālija
Projekta īstenošanas laikā organizētas:
- Plānošanas vizīte, kurā piedalīsies divi jaunatnes apmaiņas dalībnieki (dalībnieks un līderis) no Latvijas un divi līderi no Itālijas. Vizītes laikā dalībnieki tika iepazīstināti ar jauniešu apmaiņas uzdevumiem, praktisko informāciju, kopīgi plānojot apmaiņas norisi.
- Jauniešu apmaiņas nometne. Tajā piedalījās 2 jauniešu grupas – 2 grupas līderi un 10 jaunieši no Latvijas Sarkanā Krusta un 3 grupas līderi un 10 jaunieši no Itālijas Sarkanā Krusta.
