The aim of the LatRC is to ensure that citizens of Latvia are ready to react to critical health and safety risks. To ensure that Latvian citizens are ready to provide care, the LatRC will tailor first aid courses to the needs of particular groups and provide training in various places within the country.

The LatRC is a certified first aid training organisation that, in accordance with educational programmes, is allowed to provide first aid training to high-risk groups of citizens and professions, including drivers of vehicles. The LatRC educates employees of educational establishments, companies, and other persons on first aid.

The LatRC organises first aid provision trainings in accordance with Regulations No. 557 of the Cabinet of Ministers, also known as the “Regulations on the Training of First Aid Provision” since 14 August 2012.  The training lasts for 2 days.  Prior to the training course each participant has to present a document of identity. At the end of the training, after a test has been passed, a certificate is issued with a validity term of 5 years for drivers and persons with gun licences. The course costs EUR 45.00.
